This series of photographs represents Beulah Alida Hittle, sister of Anna Hittle Rings, throughout different stages of her adult life. One photograph is in color with the remaining in black and white. A swastika appears in the fourth photo, however, this image predates the use of the symbol by Nazi-controlled Germany. Prior to its use as a hate symbol, the swastika held many meanings in various cultures around the world, often standing for wellbeing, prosperity, or good fortune
