These legal documents relate to the case of the Kansas Territory vs. Charles Diggs. Benjamin F. Claywell testified in an affidavit before Justice of the Peace Daniel R. Sprange that Diggs stole a horse from Claywell on July 23, 1856 in Jefferson County, Kansas Territory. The documents include an arrest warrant issued by Sprange and executed by the Sheriff of Jefferson County.
