These legal documents relate to the case of the Kansas Territory vs. Benjamin Cockran (Cochran) for malicious mischief. Cockran was accused of maliciously killing two hogs, the property of "Majors and Russill", on January 1, 1856 in Franklin County, Kansas Territory. Cockran was indicted by the Franklin County Court during the Spring term of 1856.
