Here are three photographs showing Purcell-Mull Drilling Company drilling Mahan-Tarr #1 in Barber County, Kansas. The well is located in the Medicine Lodge field. The well was owned by Mrs. T. C. Mahan of Coldwater and her sister Mrs. Sewell Tarr of Huntsville, Arkansas who inherited the land from their father Frank Markham.
