Correspondence sent and received by Kansas Adjutant General John N. Roberts. Frequent correspondents include James White Frierson Hughes, James W. Forsyth, Ezra B. Fuller, Willis Metcalf, and George W. Jackson. Includes a letter from the newly appointed chaplain of the Second Regiment, J.H. Boggess, and a petition for elected officers of the infantry of the Third Regiment in Greenwood County. Several applications for honorable discharge can be found in this correspondence, including several members of Company D of the Second Regiment, George W. Boland of Christian County, Missouri, John Kernal of Company G of the 83rd U.S. Colored Troops, and several members of Company C of the Fourth Regiment.
