Images of Gracia Burnham speaking at Royal Valley High School, Hoyt. The talk was sponsored by the Hoyt United Methodist Women of the Hoyt United Methodist Church. Gracia & Martin Burnham lived in Rose Hill, Kansas, before serving as missionaries with the New Tribes Mission in the Philippines. They were kidnapped, along with others, by a militant group of Muslims on May 27, 2001. They spent 376 days in captivity and on June 7, 2002 in a firefight, Martin was killed. Gracia was wounded but was freed.
