In this letter, Mrs. Will Schmeling of Atchinson, Kansas, asks Governor Schoeppel to "do something" to keep veterans of the European theater of war from being sent to Pacific as part of the occupation force. Like many other Americans, Schmeling is concerned that "such an injustice might seriously affect their [the soldiers] attitude toward a government they now respect.
