This photograph depicts members of the Third Infantry, Company C, in front of an unidentified building at Fort Larned. The company was commanded by 1st Lieut. L. W. Cooke. This photograph was taken sometime in 1867.

This photograph can be grouped with the two other sources regarding Ft. Larned to create a case study of the military's presence on the plains. It would be particularly useful within discussions of the military's use of force to expel Native Americans from their land.
