S. S. King, who was a Populist supporter from Kansas City, Kansas, believed that laborers and farmers benefited little from their labors, while banks and the owners of industries reaped the profits. His booklet's full title is "Seedtime and Harvest, Pictures from the Official Records, wherein are seen Labor, Agriculture, and Trade, Sowing the Seed, in order that Railroads, Banks, and Factories, May Reap the Harvest."
