Leavenworth, Kansas, Jany 24, 1861.
Dear Govr. I wrote to day the last of the letters on the Commissioner business. I wrote Caleb B. Smith, John Sherman, Govr. Corwin, Govr. Dennison, Govr. Chase, Father & Jos: J. Coombs. Enclosed is a copy of my letter to Govr. Chase which is about to the same purport with the others.
The Legislature should not meet (State Leg) until about last March. By that time I think you will be Comr.
I want to hear from you about going on.
