Leavenworth Association town shares memorandum

Know all men by these presents that we the undersigned Trustees of the Leavenworth Town Association in the Territory of Kansas, have this day sold to John A. Halderman Lot no. Nineteen (19) in Block no. Seventeen (17) in said town of Leavenworth, for and in consideration of the sum of One Hundred and Seventy Five Dollars the receipt of one half of which said sum is hereby acknowledged, the remaining one half is secured to be paid by note executed by John A. Halderman the purchaser, bearing even date with these presents and payable so soon as in any manner a title to said Lot shall be assured to said John A. Halderman his heirs or assigns, whether made by the Trustees of said Town Association or otherwise.
Sealed with our seals, and dated this twenty fifth day of June A D 1855.
The conditions of this obligation however is upon these express conditions that if John A. Halderman the purchaser his heirs or assigns shall improve said Lot by erecting a building not less than fifteen by thirty feet thereon and otherwise improve the same within the space of five months, and provided also that the said John A. Halderman his heirs or assigns shall pay as cause to be paid the note therein described according to the true tenor and meaning thereof, then we as Trustees as aforesaid bind ourselves and our successors in office to make to said John A. Halderman his heirs or assigns a Quit Claim Deed, if not otherwise obtained, to said Lot no. Nineteen (19) in Block no. Seventeen (17) in the town aforesaid. O. Diefendorf (Seal) Wm S. Yohe (Seal) J.
