Deed to Nathaniel S. Higgins

Nov. 5, 1856

 

            Know all men by these presents that I James S. Emery of Lawrence Kansas Territory in

 

 consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars to [XXXXX] (the receipt whereof is here by

 

 acknowledged) by Nathaniel S. Higgins of of Fair [XXXXX] in the state of Massachusetts have sold

 

and conveyed and by these presents do sell and carry out [XXXXX]  Higgins his executers

 

administraters and herits all sight title and interst in a certain undivided half of a certain lot + stone or

 

concrete building now occupied [XXXXX]  said Emery + siterated on lot number thirty on

 

Massachusetts Street in said town of Lawrence to have and to hold in said premises to him and to his

 

heirs forever.

 

            Now the condition of the above obligattion is such that if the said Emery his heirs executers

 

administrators or assigned shall [XXXXX]  as he or they may acquire a perfect title from the

 

governmnet to a certain town share in the said town of Lawrence known a registered as share number

 

ninty-seven (97) carry the same [XXXXX] good and sufficient deed to the saud Higgins his executors

 

administrators or heirs there this obligation shall be of no effect.
