Little Osage
Is ocupied mostly by P Slavery men each are ocupying 6 or 7 claims
truely excluding
Free State men.
There are however 3 or 4 Free State men on this creek who have
suffered much
persecution.
Enoch Osbourn lives about 16 miles from the state line, was driven
from his
claim several times, which caused him & his family much suffering.
Fortunately
he had some relatives in Mo. who became exasperated at their treatment of
him
& threatened if he was molested again the parties should pay dearly
for
it.
These threats were effective, as he now lives in peace.
An effort ought to be made to place a fiew good Free State men on
this creek.
The timber is exelent & the prarie, is good. I consider this one
of the
best parts of the territory for stock raising.
