Beach Valley K. T. April 22nd 1860
Hon S. N. Wood,
Dear Sir,
I write today to ask your advice in regard to my bridge matters,
As you are already aware of my having a charter and a renewal of it
also,
I
will proceed to state the case as near as I can- Last fall aman by
the name of Wm Edwards and some others built a bridge with in the limits
of
the charter knowing that I was going to build mine, they said at the time
that
their bridge was merely temporary, but since I have completed mine they
have
continued to use theirs and have made it a free bridge although they have
received
toll on it since mine was ready for crossing. They now meet trains on the
road
to induce them to cross their bridge. I wish to know if anything can be
done
with them at law, Can I sue them for tresspass before a Justice of the
Peace
and have the bridge removed, if so I wish to proceed forth with. Please
write
immediately and let me know the amt of your fees & I will send them
forth
with
Yours Truly
A J Beach
