This broadside was an invitation to attend a meeting to discuss and endorse the proceedings of the Big Spring Convention which was organized by free state supporters as part of the actions leading up to the drafting of the Topeka Constitution. The meeting was to be held by "the Freeman on the Wakarusa" at Blanton on September 13, 1855. The document indicated that the "FREE STATE PLATFORM and the Proceedings of the CONVENTION" would be read, and that the best "Orators of the Country" would be there.
