This drawing by Henry Worall, appeared in the September 14, 1879 Kansas City Daily Journal, shows the first white settlement in the Kansas territory. Established in 1827 by Col. Daniel Morgan Boone a farmer for the Kansas Indians. The site was located seven miles northwest of Lawrence, Kansas.
