These modified shells were recovered from the Sharps Creek site in McPherson County and donated to the Kansas Historical Society in 2020. They were made from local mussel shell and may have been intended to function as ornaments. The site was a Great Bend aspect (ancestral Wichita and Affiliated Tribes) village occupied during the Late Ceramic period.
