These black and white images were taken at the Woods site in Clay County during excavations by Kansas Historical Society archeologists and crew in 1961. Shown are views of the earthlodge floor, central hearth, storage pits, and post holes. Also shown is an aerial view to the east of the finished excavation and a view of how the aerial photograph was accomplished. The Smoky Hill aspect site had the remains of two earthlodges.
