This Caddoan rim sherd was collected from an archeological site in Marion County and donated to the Kansas Historical Society in 2020. The tall cylindrical rim sherd has fine sand and crushed bone temper. It was engraved after firing with five triangular zones of lines. The site is what archeologists call part of the Great Bend aspect (ancestral Wichita and Affiliated Tribes), whose people practiced a variety of subsistence strategies.
