This quiver, a case for holding arrows, is made of hide which still retains much of its brown and white hair. The carrying straps have attached fringed pieces and are faced with red and yellow calico. The seams of the facing are sewn with cotton thread, though the seams of the quiver are sewn with sinew. The quiver was added to the Kansas Historical Society collections in 1984. At that time it was discovered it had lost its provenience, the record of ownership, the story. This does not mean it has lost its value as it is a good example of a mid-to-late 19th century quiver.
