This knife fragment was found on the surface of a Middle Ceramic period Smoky Hill aspect archeological site in Saline County and donated to the Kansas Historical Society in 2020. The knife was made of nearby Flint Hills chert. It may have been used for other purposes in addition to use as a cutting tool such as scraping or as a preform for a future tool.
