This toy pistol was recovered from Fort Harker during the 1996 Kansas Archeology Training Program field school. Over time the cocking mechanism has become separated from the pistol and the trigger portion was lost. Fort Harker was located adjacent to what was to become the town of Kanopolis in Ellsworth County. This toy would have post dated the occupation of the fort.
