This portrait of Me sha tsa (Mr. Hoover) was donated by Chief Sylvester Tinker of the Osage Nation to the Kansas Historical Society in 1987. The portrait was drawn by Wakon Iron (Ton Won Hin) on a board. Chief Tinker remembered: "This is one of the old-time ways that the Osage looked when I was a young man." The Tinker collection includes hundreds of items such as these revealing the rich facets of Osage culture.
