These rim sherds were recovered from the Fanning Site in Doniphan County and donated to the Kansas Historical Society in 1981. The rim sherds are tempered with shell. The rim sherd on the left has an opening created prior to firing of the vessel that could be used to suspend the pot. The rim sherd on the right has a horizontal tab handle and a series of punctates along the lip. The Fanning site is a Late Ceramic to early Contact Period Kansa village.

Date: 1500-1700 CE
