These knives were recovered from archeological site 14SH302 and donated to the Kansas Historical Society in 1956. The knives, made of local chert from the Flint Hills region, may have been used for cutting, scraping, or as a preform or blank for a future tool. The site is the possible location of American Chief's Village, the smallest of three Kansa Indian Villages in Shawnee County.
