These rim sherds were recovered from a site in Mitchell County that was occupied by people referred to as the White Rock Oneota archeological complex, who moved into the Central Plains from the Upper Midwest during the Late Prehistoric (1000-1650 CE) period. All of the rim sherds are decorated on or below the vessel lip. The site was excavated by the University of Nebraska and the collection was donated to the Kansas Historical Society in 1987.
