This photograph shows the versatility of the new icing machine, demonstrated here by use of the hoist and boom arrangement, which is run by independent electric motor, to swing the heater into position over hatch for lowering into car. In cold weather this protects perishables from freezing. The cars being filled have the Santa Fe logo, SFRD, and The Route of The Super Chief All Pullman Chicago-Los Angeles Streamliner on the sides.
