This knife was recovered during a survey in 1975 at an archeological site in Dickinson County by a Kansas Historical Society archeologist. The finely flaked knife is made of Florence chert, which outcrops in the Flint Hills of Kansas and Oklahoma. The site had the remains of at least one house that was occupied during the Middle Ceramic period.
