This stove leg was collected at Fort Zarah in Barton County and donated in 1973 to the Kansas Historical Society. The ornate cook stove leg was collected from the building used by the Indian Agent. The leg was cleaned by electrolysis which passes an electrical current through a liquid solution to separate the rust from the artifact. The fort was a small outpost on the Santa Fe trail in Barton County occupied from 1864 to 1869.

Date: 1864-1869
