This gunflint was collected from the surface of the Infinity site in Montgomery County. Gunflints were used to generate a spark in a flintlock musket or pistol and as strike-a-lights for lighting a fire. This gunflint, quarried and manufactured in southern England, has a single dorsal arris, a sharp edge formed by the intersection of two surfaces. The Infinity site is a multicomponent site that was occupied periodically from the late Archaic period through the Historic period.
