This photograph represents the Johnson Bedroom in the North Building of the Shawnee Indian Mission after reconstruction in 1942. Labeled on the reverse of the photograph identifies the maple bureau and mirror being American Empire style, and the wallpaper and rugs as reproductions. In 1968, the Shawnee Indian Mission was declared a National Historic Landmark and has since been under the operation of the Kansas Historical Society.
