This unidentified artifact is heavy for its size, possibly made of lead, was pinched or crimped at the top, and later hit by farm equipment. It was collected from the Wullschleger site in Marshall County and donated to the Kansas Historical Society in 1961. After asking several archeologists what it might be, the consensus was that is was likely an expended bullet, and possibly a hollow point considering the way the artifact mushroomed. The site was occupied periodically throughout the Early, Middle and Late Ceramic periods. This artifact dates later to the Historic period.
