This file includes letters and telegraphs from citizens in various counties in Kansas informing Kansas Governor St. John of recent Native American raids and requesting additional officers and arms as the residents do not have proper arms to defend themselves against any raids. A report from Brevet Major General at Leavenworth, Kansas deny that any Northern or Southern Native Americans are absent from the Agency. There are additional reports to the governor on other Native American activities in Kansas. Another document describes a request for citizens of Caldwell, Kansas to not sell arms and ammunition to Native Americans.
