This file includes correspondence relating to the Kansas Freedman's Relief Association (KFRA) which is part of a larger collection of Kansas Governor St. John Correspondence. A letter asks the Governor to provide him with information regarding the Migrant Exoduster's such as why they came to the State of Kansas; are they living in towns or the country, along with other questions. Additional letters inform the Governor of employment opportunities for the refugees. A letter from C. L. DeRandamire informs the Governor there will be a large gathering to celebrate the emancipation of the slaves in the British Colonies, DeRandamire requests the Governor attend to address the gathering that day. A separate letter from James DeLong requests Governor St. John go to New York to raise money for the refugees.
