A formal invitation from Edwin Brown, President of the Chicago American Humane Association, welcomes the Governor to celebrate the third annual convention in Chicago, Illinois. A letter from the committee of arrangements of the John Brown festival thanks the Governor for sharing detailed information about John Brown and talks about erecting a monument for Brown. A letter from the Committee of the River Improvement Convention requests the Governor attend the meeting convention held for the improvement of the Mississippi River.
