A petition from twenty-seven members of the State Board of Agriculture requests Kansas Governor Humphrey to appoint Martin Allen as Commissioner of Forestry for the State of Kansas. A letter from W. A. Peffer, Managing Editor at the Kansas Farmer Company, informs the Governor that Martin Allen is going to apply for the position as Commissioner. Additional letters are from individuals recommending certain people for the position as Commissioner of Forestry.
