A letter from Charles Collins, Sanitary Stock Commissioner of Hutchinson, Kansas informs Governor Humphrey there is a great deal of glanders among livestock in the State, and if the State were to attend to all the calls that are made it would take $25,000 of expenditure for the summer alone. Collins shares that he is advising the Sherriff or Officer to kill the livestock if they are confirmed to have ganders. A copy of correspondence between Collins and Willis and Addison of Eureka, Kansas, in relation to bringing in Pan Handle cattle. A report of the meeting of the Livestock Sanitary Commission of Kansas held in Kansas City to investigate charges against the Kansas City Stock Yard Company Rail Roads, and the State Cattle Inspector. Additional correspondence and documents are about the Texas and Splenic Fever among cattle of the State of Kansas and livestock quarantine.
