This small bottle was excavated at Fort Zarah in 1969 by Kansas Historical Society archeologists. The clear glass bottle is 2 1/8" high and has a flat or patent finish. The fort was a small outpost on the Santa Fe trail in Barton County occupied from 1864 to 1869. The trading post, where the bottle was located, burned in 1868.
