These letters, spanning 1885 to 1888, are from government offices, companies, organizations, and other individuals regarding prohibition to Kansas Governor John Martin. The letters provide various viewpoints on prohibition in Kansas. Individuals, organizations, etc. wrote about saloons in their town, petitions asking for the suppression of sales of alcohol, asking for information or providing their opinion on liquor and temperance laws, asking for the arrest of individuals acting against laws, and asking about or providing their opinion on the effects of prohibition.
