These letters, spanning 1885 to 1887, are from the U.S. Department of the Interior, government officials, and attorneys regarding railroad land matters to Kansas Governor John Martin. The letters discuss land grants and legislation focused on providing land to railroads. The railroads mentioned were the Missouri-Kansas railroad as well as the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe railroads.
