These letters, spanning 1885 to 1887, are from the office of the Florida Chautauqua regarding the Southern States Forestry Congress to Kansas Governor John Martin. Letters cover multiple sessions of the Southern States Forestry Congress. Pamphlets explain the reasons for the congress as well as the goals and outcomes of it. Most of the letters invite Martin to attend the congress and ask him to appoint delegates, while other letters ask for the appointment to be delegate. The annual sessions of the Southern States Forestry Congress were held in DeFuniak Springs, Florida around December.
