These letters, spanning 1886 to 1888, are from Samuel J. Crawford, Ino S. Williams (third auditor), W. J. Dunham (comptroller), and P. Bonebrake (President of Central National Bank) regarding general claims to Kansas Governor John Martin. Crawford wrote discussing military claims and the installment of seven payments for reimbursement. Williams wrote discussing war claims. Dunham wrote discussing the necessity of a notary public for the verification of claims against the U.S. government. Bonebrake wrote discussing the reimbursement of war claims from the U.S. government. The military and war claims were over the soldiers hired and other expenditures for fighting against "Indian hostilities."
