These letters, spanning February through March 1887, are from government officials regarding the Supreme Court Commission to Kansas Governor John Martin. They wrote recommending individuals, with signed petitions, for an appointment to the commission. Those recommended were W. D. Webb, A. L. Reddeu, George L. Green, L. Stack, L. K. Kirk, J. H. Morrison, Irwin Taylor, S. D. Shader, J. A. Walker, John W. Day, F. E. Gillett, J. B. Clogston, and Joel Holt.
