These letters, spanning 1885 to 1888, are from members of the Kansas State Pharmaceutical Association and other individuals regarding the State Board of Pharmacy to Kansas Governor John Martin. The letters are either a recommendation or application for a position on the board. The State Board of Pharmacy was created in 1885. It consisted of five practicing pharmacists doing business in the state. The Governor appointed the board from a list of names submitted by the Kansas State Pharmaceutical Association.
