These letters, spanning December 1885, are from state officials regarding the 18th Judicial District judge to Kansas Governor John Martin. H. C. Sluss, the 18th Judicial District judge, wrote his resignation. All of the state officials recommended J. B. Wall to be Sluss' successor. An official signed document designated J. B. Wall as the 18th Judicial District judge.
