These letters, spanning 1885 to 1887, are from various Kansas National Guard division headquarters regarding their general affairs to Kansas Governor John Martin. The various headquarters wrote about their reports, annual encampments, and the appointment of officials. Topeka, Abilene, Camp Phil Sheridan, Wichita, Belleville, and Wellington were headquarter locations in Kansas.
