These two letters, dated August 11th, 1885 and February 14th, 1887, are from the superintendent of the Kansas State Insurance Department, R. B. Morris, regarding the department's affairs to Kansas Governor John Martin. In both letters, Morris writes defending the department against complaints made by individuals about the violation of laws and W. J. Lea, Commissioner of Insurance.
