These letters, spanning January 1886, are from individuals, companies, organizations, and state offices regarding Kansas affairs to Kansas Governor John Martin. The letters discuss various topics including land, societal meetings, personal matters/opinions, military affairs, Kansas counties, aid/endorsements, legislation, Native Americans, newspaper/publication articles, and inventions. Martin was fortunate to have acquired upon his inauguration, in 1885, a state of affairs that was persistent in prosperous economic growth, and city and town expansion.
