A letter from Attorney J. H. Sallee writes to inform Kansas Governor St. John of the Sheriff's reward for the arrest of George Tevebough, who goes by the alias name Bill Howard. In the letter, Sallee advises the Governor that Bill Howard is charged with the rape of a twelve-year-old girl. Accompanying the letter is a newspaper clipping that discusses Howard's crime as well as a telegram from J. H. Sallee that notifies the Governor a reward is no longer required as men have captured, hung, and burned the body of the criminal.
