A letter from the Commissioners, Sheriff, District Court, and Register of Deeds for the County of Mitchell writes to Kansas Governor St. John to recommend a person they believe would be suitable to fill the Office of County Surveyor. The following is a resignation letter for County Surveyor, in this letter is a recommendation for a certain person to fill said position. A separate letter informs the Governor that the people of Mitchell County are concerned about not getting enough rain for their crops and provides a petition for an extension of time to pay the annual interest to the state.
